Southern Oregon Coast photography workshop in August!

Preparing for the workshop

The Northwest Aperture team had a wonderful time recently re-scouting some of the planned locations for this summer’s photography workshop along the Oregon Coast. A multiple-day event filled with seascapes, sea-stack vistas, smooth-motion water, forested views, and trails, and hopefully even some nighttime astrophotography weather permitting.

This event will be for all levels of photographers - from just graduating from your phone or snaps to get more “deliberate” shots - all the way to pros or semi-pros who benefit from a guided tour of some of Oregon’s incredible vistas.

For this kind of event it’s important we’re up to date on the locations, any possible closures or issues, and to have a detailed plan where applicable.

Previews and samples

Some previews of the kinds of experiences, scenes, locations, and photographic opportunities the group will experience in September:

The iconic sea-stacks of the Oregon Coast, the rocky shores and jagged coast-lines are compelling year round, regardless of weather. Wide views up to close-up details and water swirls are all fun to grab.

Up close and personal details offer an incredible variety of photographic opportunities.

In this workshop, we also plan to do one of the NWA team’s favorite styles of photography - nighttime astro! (Weather permitting.)

Expect variety

Whether clear and colorful or moody and subdued, the coast always provides interesting subjects to capture and treasure. Be prepared for any weather and light. You never know what you’ll find. From sunrises to bright clear mid-day through to sunset, the scenes await.

The team is there to help

With different styles and approaches and combined decades of experience the Northwest Aperture workshop coaches are there to help you match your style and experience level to the challenge of the day. Whether it’s beginning with composition and basic camera controls up to being a sounding board for your artistic vision and alternatives to try.

This should be a fun adventure. Can’t wait to enjoy the workshop with the crew!
